Those from Kragujevac who were shot wrote their last messages to their loved ones immediately before their execution, and some of their last words are preserved in Museum „21. October“.

* High school student Ljubiša was only 17 years old when he was taken before the firing squad, and he left a message for his parents: „Dear dad and mom, greetings, for the last time. Ljubiša“.

Unfortunately, his father never read the message, because he too, unknown to Ljubiša, was captured and shot on the same day.

* „Dear Lelo, Seko and Bato, the last hour has come, forgive your father. Lazar loves you all. I wanted to take a picture with you, Lela, but you put it off. I’m sorry“, said the worker Lazar Petrović to his family.

* Engineer Nikola Simić was shot together with his son Aleksandar, and this was his last message to his family.

„Aca and I are leaving together. Father loves you, live in harmony.“

* „Aca greets you all. Say hello to my friend Danica“, was the last message of Aleksandar, an 18-year-old high school student.

-One High school student Pavle Ivanović wrote to his dad: „Father, I and Misha are in the cannon sheds. Bring us lunch, a sweater and a rug. Bring us jam in a jar. Father, go to the principal if it’s worth it.“

* Bookkeeper Jakov Medina said goodbye with the words: „Don’t send the bread tomorrow“, worrying that the precious bread will not be wasted.

* „Goodbye, Mico. I’ll die today. Goodbye, sweetheart. My last thought is of you. Be happy, my child, even without me,“ the man wrote, probably to his daughter.

* Among them is a desperate father, who sent a message to the little ones: „Miro, kiss the children for me. Listen to your mother, my children, and be safe. Goodbye forever, your dad Laza.”
