The Prayer Gathering on the occasion of Remembrance Day of Jadovno 1941 begins on Friday, June 20th in the afternoon, with gathering in front of the Church of the Entry of the Most Holy Mother of God into the Temple, in Plasko. In the evening of the same day there will be held a promotion of the book „Jadovnička golgota sveštenoslužitelja Srpske Pravoslavne Crkve 1941.godine“ written by the priest Dragan Šućur [English translation of the book title would be „Jadovno Golgotha of the clergymen of the Serbian Orthodox Church in 1941“].
On Saturday, June 21, above the Šaranova pit on the Velebit Mountain, starting at 10 am, His Grace, Bishop Gerasim, of the Gornjokarlovacka diocese, will serve the Divine Liturgy with concelebration of the priests of the Serbian Orthodox Church.
After that, we will take the Martyrs’ path to the site of the Jadovno camp, where the memorial service will be held in front of the Holy Cross.This is the place where the bodies of about 1500 martyrs killed in late August 1941 are still lying.
On our return to Plaski, we will visit the Nikola Tesla Memorial Center in Smiljan.
On the same evening, in Plasko, a lecture titled “My Jadovno” will be held.
On Sunday, June 22nd , in the Church of the Entry of the Most Holy Mother of God into the Temple, in Plasko, starting at 9 am, the Divine Liturgy will be served. After the Divine Liturgy and refreshments, we will travel back to our homes.
Due to the limited accommodation capacities in Plasko, for the participants of the Gathering of June 20 – 22, there will be organized transportation by one bus from Belgrade, and another from Banja Luka.
The organizers will provide free transportation and meals, but the cost of accommodation for two nights in Plasko, which amounts to 20 EUR is to be paid by the participants themselves.
All the people who intend to come on Friday, June 20th, driving their own cars have to take care of their accommodation themselves.
These the participants who intend to come and take part only in the Gathering on Saturday, we invite to come to Velebit near Saranova pit before 10 a.m. when the Divine Liturgy will begin.
